The EU9500 was a recent purchase this winter. It’s power is efficient for our 3 bedroom home. And I am impressed with the gas usage and steady power. It is louder than my MQD7000 mighty quip diesel generator, but that is typical when compared to a ‘silent’ diesel.

I got this for a really good deal and was excited to get it running for the first time. My buddy came over with his jumper box just in case it had a dead battery. It was new and sitting for more then a year so I wanted to make sure it would start. We did the initial add oil and fuel, connect the battery it came with, then bled the fuel line. The process is kinda messy but I had a roll of shop towels handy. Then it was time to fire it off. It started and stalled a couple times while the injector loaded and the air if any was ran through. Then it started to run smooth and everything stabilised and it idled very smooth. I let it run for about 45 minutes and plugged in various things to see it work. I had several things plugged in at once to get the engine to rev a little but nothing was close enough for it to draw enough power for it to come off idle. That is great. There should be plenty of electricity for my needs and more. After about 30 minutes or so I noticed it start to quiet down a little. I think once the rings are seated good it will be maximum efficiency and get a little quieter. And we never needed my buddies jumper box. The battery had plenty of juice and it. I needed to crank and start the engine about 4 times before it cleared out the air and fuel gaps. Then I learned about the remote controls. While it was running I tried to remote stop it. But it didn’t work. I didn’t realise that while it is turned on with the key the remote is disabled. I turned the key off then tried the remote and it started right up in remote mode. The key was still off. I turned it off again with the remote and walked across my yard about 50 feet then started it from there. That is a great feature. If you can get a good deal on one of these and you need reliable serious power I highly recommend this unit. Diesel is more efficient then gasoline to for hours per gallon, especially with fuel injection. And of course there is the storage aspect of diesel lasting so much longer then gas while saving for another day. I love this generator and it should give years of service. The guy I got it from bought two and decided one was plenty of power and he uses it 8 to 12 hours a day 5 or 6 days a week. He has for more then a year. That sold me on his extra one since it was still wrapped in plastic. I bought it and brought it home.
